MY SON DEMANDS I SELL MY HOUSE BECAUSE IT’S “TOO BIG FOR ME.” WHAT SHOULD I DO?
At 71, I decided to keep my family home, even after my kids moved out. I love the space, the garden, and the memories. My late husband and I built this home together, and it means the world to me.
During his last visit, my son said, “Mom, it’s time to sell and downsize. You don’t need this house, and it’s ridiculous for someone your age to maintain a place this big. Just get an apartment like everyone else your age and stop being so stubborn.”
But I love my house, and I love taking care of it. Should I really move to a smaller place? What would you do in my position?
